Street Glide®

History

Harley-Davidson released the first Street Glide in 1984, which was called the 1985 MY Harley-Davidson® FLHX Street Glide. It's powered by an air-cooled four-stroke 1337cc V-twin engine and offers 5-speed transmission and 50hp. Iconic aspects of this model include the fork-mounted fairing, passenger backrest, rear trunk, and lockable saddlebags. Many of the features focused on providing a comfortable ride on longer trips, which fit well with those who commute to work or go touring often. The Street Glide quickly became a consistent part of the Harley lineup, but it took until 2000 for the first major upgrade to occur. The 2000 MY Harley-Davidson FLHX Street Glide offered a 1449cc engine and 67 hp output. After that upgrade, the Street Glide would be upgraded about every five years.

The Street Glide is a versatile motorcycle. Some riders enjoy hopping on and cruising around town showing off its style.
